Author: Jane Seward is pleased to serve districts as a literacy specialist. Jane is recognized by KSDE as a facilitator for MTSS Overviews, Structuring, and Implementation training. She is a certified AIMSweb and DIBELS trainer, provides follow-up support on data management and analysis, and is especially excited to share reading readiness skills and intervention strategies targeting the needs of struggling readers. Jane is a Pathways to Reading trainer and coach and can be contacted to lead districts in the implementation of the Ruby Payne Framework for Understanding Poverty. Her availability for coaching and consulting is supported by training in Cognitive Coaching and Data-Driven Dialogue. An additional learning opportunity that Jane shares with grades K-2 and 3-5 teachers is the Writers Workshop model using materials designed by Lucy Calkins, founding director of the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project. Jane‰ۡó»s educational background includes a Master of Education degree from Wichita State University. Prior to her position with ESSDACK, she was a reading specialist for the South Central Kansas Special Education Cooperative in Pratt. An added educational highlight includes the research and implementation of a successful K-1 multi-age model of instruction with a team of teachers and administrators.
